Fundraising Auction Art Academy London - Timed (24/95)

Notes

Peregrine, Shard, Night represents an iconic bird of prey and an iconic London building. Peregrines, once widely persecuted in the UK, have successfully adapted to the city, exchanging high buildings for cliff edges. The images celebrates how wildlife and contemporary humanity can sometimes successfully coexist. Peregrines, which nest on the Tate Modern chimney, also represent to me Bankside, an area of London which is familiar to me as the location of the Art Academy.

About the Artist

Stella's prints reflect her passion for the natural environment and response to the climate and ecological crisis. She specialises in lino cut, with its clear, strong, graphic qualities, and lino etching, with its looser mark-making. She also combines lino print with other techniques such as collage, monoprint and watercolour. Yarrow loves to experiment with colour, transparency, and texture, and make small print editions, and unique, one-off, prints. Yarrow works on her prints by hand, using a traditional etching press, at the Print Studio at the Art Academy London. She is a member of the Crouch End Open Studios group and the Printmakers Council and an associate member of East London Printmakers.
